John Higginson: “The Wizard of Wishaw”
Originally from Scotland, John Higginson is considered to be the most consistent cueist of this era. Born on 18th May 1975, the 35-year-old has won as many as 21 ranking titles in his professional career.  Living peacefully in the Scottish county
Lanarkshire’s town of Wishaw with his wife Denise and three children, Higgins is destructive on the green six legged table.
He has won the most prestigious tournament of snooker, the World championships thrice in 1992, 2007 and 2009. Apparently calm and quite, Higgins is a nightmare to many fine and successful cueists today.
With the breaks of score 147 five times in his career, Higgins has never went down the 6th spot in international rankings since 1996. Maintaining the top spot most of the times, Higgins is regarded as the most persistent cue-man alive.
Betting Controversy:
In May 2010, News Of The World - a UK based tabloid -accused Higgins and his manager Pat Mooney of match fixing, showing Higgins and Pat talking about influencing the snooker games in exchange for money. These allegations against Higgins had him suspended
immediately from WPBSA and all the international professional competitions.
Later in September 2010, Higgins was declared clean and not guilty. After his come back to the international competitions, Higgins has been unstoppable and on an absolute rampage.
Distinctions:
During the sessions 1998/99, John Higgins won the UK championship and Masters, thus becoming the third player in snooker history to hold the titles synchronously.
John Higgins is the only player to win three opening tournaments in a season; Higgins was also the only player to make four centuries in a row. He is one of the only five players in the history of snooker to have won both the World Championships and UK championship
in a single year, which was in 1998.
Titles:

Grand Prix 1994, 1999, 2005, 2008 British Open 1995, 1998, 2001, 2004 German Open 1995, 1997 European Open 1997 World Snooker Championship 1998, 2007, 2009 UK championship 1998, 2000 China International 1999 Welsh Open 2000, 2010
Higgins has a total of 21 ranking titles up his sleeves and 400 cumulate ambitious centuries. Often known as the "Wizard Of Wishaw" or "The Kid", Higgins has an impressive professional career and yet has to go a long way. As Higgins is participating in the
12BET.com UK Snooker Championship successfully, he has made it to the semi final round and is likely to be the finalist in the tournament.
About his successful venture in the World's second biggest tournament, Higgins said, "I just want to win, I have always preferred the ranking tournaments, and i am fascinated to add another one." He added, "I am confident and taking things as they are happening
and coming to me. I have had some bad times lately but right now my focus is on winning and i want to keep it going".
John Higginson is by far the most competitive and consistent snooker player of this era as he has proven himself over the number of years. The Scottish cue-man has beaten up all the big names in the sport including Neil Robertson, Ding Junhui, Ronnie O'Sullivan,
Steve Davis, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams and Stephen Hendry. These are the most respected and enchanted players in today's snooker.
During his current adventure where he is more likely to reach the finals of the UK Snooker Championship, he will have to face either Mark Williams or Shaun Murphy.
For sure, John's fans all over the world are looking forward to the occasion, and most of all to see their favourite cueist in action to win the second biggest title after his controversial ban from the international competitions.
