John Hopkins keen to get another wild card entry with Rizla Suzuki team in 2011 – MotoGP news
Samsung Crescent Suzuki rider John Hopkins is looking forward to get another wild card opportunity with the Rizla Suzuki team in the 2011 MotoGP season.
After missing the opportunity at Brno, he aims to restate his performance in the premier class.
The British Superbike racer will be having three rounds after ending his 2011 British Superbike season, therefore he wants to secure a MotoGP outing. Hopper is working to make his dream come true.
John Hopkins told MCN, “There are still three races after the BSB championship and I have every intention of doing all I can to get out there.”
It is being speculated that he is willing to get a ride in all the three events at Phillip Island, Sepang and Valencia, but he wants to settle for at least one.
Earlier in the season, Hopper raced as a replacement for the injured Alvaro Bautista during the Jerez round and he finished at tenth position. His first entry was as a substitute whereas his second entry was as a teammate with Alvaro Bautista.
After his first wild card entry, he was confirmed to race at Brno, Czech Republic. He was strong during the race weekend at Brno. However, he fell during the third free practice session and broke a finger on his right hand. After the crash, he was forced
to miss the race.
Now after winning the double race at the Donington Park BSB event, he has expressed his desire to get another wild card entry in the MotoGP season. The 2011 MotoGP season will still have three rounds left when the BSB season finishes.
He is reportedly engaged in talks with the MotoGP Suzuki team to give him the opportunity to ride along Bautista.
His keenness to make a mark in MotoGP class is due to his poor end of the career with the Kawasaki factory team in 2008. Let’s see if Hopkins manages to race for the Rizla Suzuki team in MotoGP at some point this year.
