John Jaso maintains composure and aims at success for 2011
There is no doubt that the 2010 Major League Baseball season ended on a positive note. The San Francisco Giants clinched the ultimate prize in the game and it was to their credit that supporters came out in good numbers to see the two unlikely teams, to make it to the finals, compete on a grand scale. The Texas Rangers never entered the World Series before and the winners last won the major competition in 1954.
Nevertheless, now that the season has come to a close and the top clubs are fighting over the top free agents in the market. For the managers, it is an active season and for the regular ball players, the off time means a chance to get back to family and catch up on resting. The free agents in the market are busy working out deals and plans to move away or secure their residences in their current cities. The spring training session is scheduled for mid February and time is limited.
However, some baseball players are looking to the years ahead in a different light. One such particular player is John Jaso. The catcher from the Tampa Bay Rays was an astonishing figure in the club during the regular season. His impact on the team’s output was significant enough to land the side in the post-season. Jaso is glad about the result in 2010, but he is not taking things for granted. The catcher is getting back in shape and is planning to make the right move when the next season dawns on the club.
Jaso further explains his impression of the preparedness by saying, “That's one thing about me, I never feel like I have everything down perfect. I always feel like I need to work on something or get better at something, and I know there's always something I'm not as good at as I can be. It kind of makes me strive to work harder.”
John commits fully to the game and he further emphasized on his routine by saying, “I've instilled a pretty good work ethic pretty much my whole life. I take it serious. I always have. And I'm not going to slack off or anything because I think I have something handed to me now. It just won't happen.”
