John Kear is all praises for his team's win over Bradford Bulls - Rugby League News
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ outgoing coach, John Kear, is all praise for his team’s brilliant performance after a 26-14 win over the Bradford Bulls during their Super League’s final showdown, which was staged on Friday, September 9.
By winning against Bulls, Wakefield managed to avoid the wooden spoon. However, the Crusaders in their embarrassing performance against the Wigan Warriors were given the wooden spoon the second time in three years which further embittered their defeat.
This was the farewell encounter for a host of players of Wakefield under Kear, which includes Glenn Morrison, Julien Rinaldi, Michael Korkidas and Ben Gledhill.
While speaking how pleased he is with his outfit, Kear added, "I'm really pleased that they didn't finish bottom because it was a goal at the end of the season. We've won our mini competition with the Crusaders. I thought the players did themselves proud.
We all said beforehand that we were going to do it for each other and, my word, they did that.It was a very good comprehensive performance. I'm not the first coach to leave Wakefield and I won't be the last but I feel that I've had five-and-a-half years and
I've loved every minute.”
The departing coach of Wakefield could not hope for a better a exit with a wonderful performance from his outfit who have done themselves proud by winning the clash over Bradford. It was further spilled in by the coach that his five and a- half-year’ stint
at Wakefield has been a pile of sheer joy. He also added that it was nonetheless a pulsating experience which toggled between being rewarding and disappointing both.
He went on about his great experiences at the Wakefield and branded his club “very historic” in general. He  also feels delighted that he has managed to get his name written down in the club’s history which will also be a source of pride for him in year
to come.
Kear is happy for his players for not finishing on the bottom most spot within the league’s hierarchy.
