  1. John L Sullivan would win. Kimbo Slice is just a bum - he got his *** handed to him by Sean Gannon .

  2. The day kimbo reaches the absolute height of any fistic endeavor and becomes Champion of the World, then and only then, can one even attempt to consider such a question and any thing else is a pipe dream. SULLIVAN didn't reach legendary status in a comic book,he did it for REAL.  And anyone who thinks kimbo is or ever will be a legend should answer other questions instead.

  3. I don't really get into this whole "Kimbo" thing.  I think he's a phenom who will die out in a couple of years.  I have watched him so I don't judge harshly.

Kimbo would beat JL for the same reason many later day fighters would.   Training is simply much better now then in the late 1800s, more than 100 years ago.    Also,  JL WASNT a big man.  He was bigger than most but PEOPLE were not very big then.   There were NOT many "Jess Willards"  walking around.

Sullivan stood 5'10" and weighed (when he was in shape) just under 200lbs.  For his style, he just wouldn't be big enough for a guy like Kimbo.  There is a BIG difference between a "SLUGGER"  and a "GRAPPLER"    Grappling is one of THE TOUGHEST forms of fighting.

There are some in the Real MMA who would beat Kimbo as I suspect he will find out in time.  I dont think JL would do it.

  4. Sullivan would destroy Kimbo

  5. sullivan

  6. Sullivan could down a quart of whiskey and beat Slice.

  7. The difference is if Kimbo thought he was any good , he would not be messing around in MMA for a few grand.

He would be in the pro boxing ranks making millions.

The fact is he would not even be able to provide a good spar for a decent heavyweight pro. He is a street strongman who has learnt anough boxing to be an average amateur now, maybe city level. That's from a coaches point of view.

He cannot be compared to any current middle rank boxer, let alone one of the greats from the greatest boxing era.

As to what Galactus said I am not sure how he got his status.

The training for boxing has not changed, and neither has the diet, since the roman times. modern training and nutrition is for all the other modern sports people never bothered with. People always fought so it has not changed that much.

John L sullivans era there were 50 times the boxers there are today, since back then there were no other big pro sports. No olympics, no soccer, no big money in football or rugby.

A bum llike Kimbo from our bum boxing decade would not evn be allowed to light him a cigar.

  8. Lol Sullivan would get smoked.

  9. "The Boston Strong Boy" with his "Give & Take" style could take anything Kimbo threw at him and give out more punsihing blows than Kimbo could endure long.
