Can you remember where you were, what you were doing when his death was announced? How old were you at the time?

I was ill in bed @ 32

I woke up & put the radio on between new bulletins, so the first time the DJ played 'a record by the late John Lennon', I was still half asleep & thought, "What? He's late for something?"

2nd time I heard DJ do it, I thought, "That's not funny: you'll have folk thinking he's dead"

When news came on, it was just such a shock: it wasn't long after 'Starting Over' was a hit - he was really on the crest of a creative new wave then

I was not quite 2 years-old so knew nothing about it till a few years later. My mum was a big Beatles fan so I grew up listening to them.

He was Shocked (impacted.... By the news...)

I lived in Raleigh, NC at the time and we were watching Monday Night Football.  I skipped work the next day and went and bought the new album.  There was a line at the store.  So, so tragic.

I was 22 and had 2 babies under 2 so very busy and also my Father was very ill so far too many things on my mind, even so it was a shock and very sad.

Yes I can recall it very well,,I was listening to Radio Luxembourg 208m,,when it was announced,I got the news about 2am whilst at work and remember the whole shift sat in silence,,I bought all the newspapers the next day and still have them
