John Lennox to make his ring return this Friday – Boxing news
Heavyweight boxer John Lennox will make his ring return on Friday night at Nutley High School in Nutley, New Jersey.
This will be John Lennox’s second fight in 2012. He will go one on one against Miles Kelly.
The bout between both the fighters will be part of a nine-bout card, which is being promoted by First Round Promotions, owned by Gabe LaConte. Lennox’s last fight was against Riley Brooks, which the former won but not impressively. His manager, to cover
up his slumped performance, said, “He didn’t have a full training camp. John was flatfooted and he fought Brooks fight.”
As of now, Lennox has 9 wins, 1 loss and 4 KOs in his portfolio. He defeated Riley Brooks through a unanimous decision in the fourth round on January 13 in Philadelphia. This time, John Lennox is being trained by Ray McCline, Mike Hall and Charles Thomas,
which means he will be exhibiting a better game play on Friday.
On this, his manager added, “John is firing on all cylinders and we expect this to be his best performance to date. We couldn’t make the fight we wanted to make but John isn’t taking anybody lightly. Despite Kelly’s record we know he has confidence as he
is the one who stepped up for the challenge. This will be John’s first six round fight and we have an eight rounder penciled in for April in the Netherlands then we should be fighting ten rounders later in the year.”
His manager went on to say that John Lennox is among those boxers who feel neglected by the boxing world. He added that boxing fans and other entities have overlooked his skills and potential and if he had the chances other boxers got then he definitely
would have had been a better fighter and more renowned heavyweight today.
John Lennox’s ring return will be his opportunity to ensure viewers and analysts are impressed with his skills in order to get better opportunities in the future. If he is able to convince First Round Promotions through his game play, he might be in the
loop for more future bouts.
