  1. John Lynch is actually 36. Might as well, they had a 38 year old linebaCKer last season.

  2. Looks like the opposing teams are just going to have to run GO-ROUTS so that their recievers don't get ruined going acrossed the middle . Patriots may get older but they do get better , someone knows what they are doing over there

  3. nope

  4. Either that, or I heard that they might line Lynch up at Linebacker. They run the 3-4 defense it will be perfect for him, and Lynch definetly has the Size, Speed, and toughness to play LB.

  5. Rodney Harrison is a strong safety.

  6. All I know is that they will have 2 slow safeties instead of just 1.......

  7. Wow, maybe you should read the whole story before making assumptions. They signed John Lynch to a 1 year contract because the Patriots back up SS Tank Williams is out for the season, Lynch will come in on some plays but will be the second string SS. And why not bring in a very good veteran safety for a year? it isn't like they are fishing for a future SS in free agency. They just needed a good back up safety and John Lynch is the best out their, he will bring great presence to the locker room and good ability on the field.

You all acuse the Patriots of having all old players and asking why don't they go younger?

Well, they have had winning seasons since 2001. So who are you to say they shouldn't have as much old guys?

  8. If it were 2 old corners that might be something to worry about but we are talking about strong & free safety here. Both guys are very smart and both are nasty hitters. You can bet they will see more dropped passes against them than any other team will and because of the rush heavy schemes they wont need to cover receivers like other teams. Just another example of why the rich get richer (I am not a Pats fan but I am not stupid or a hater). Classic case of getting a guy below value and someone who will fit the scheme, that is why they continue to be an elite franchise. I feel sorry for the first guy over the middle when both are patrolling close together....dude wont walk off the field without help (and an injury timeout). Lynch wanted one more run for Super Bowl glory and seems to have found the perfect fit, dont think of them as old....experienced would be a better choice of words in this case.

  9. oh man. they're gonna get bombed on. if the starting safeties go like that, then they're gonna give up lots of big plays from passing. their pass rush isn't that great in the first place. harrison and lynch are scary hitters but they're pass defense is questionable. they'll be good in run support.
