With John Maine, the Miami Marlins certainly improved their backup in starting rotation. Not only he possesses valuable experience but he is also known as an offensive player which will benefit the Marlins in many ways.
Not just Maine, the Marlins have also taken some big decisions this offseason. They have traded some of the best and experienced lot to Blue Jays and acquired relatively young players who will potentially carry forward the franchise burden in the next coming
years.
Along with trade, the Marlins have also been grooming their some prospects which are considerably ready to play in the next Major League Baseball season. One of them is shortstop Derek Dietrich.
“Shortstop, obviously, is second nature to me," said Dietrich, who lives near Cleveland. "My grandfather, Steve Demeter, was a big league third baseman, and he spent a lot of time in the Minors as a third baseman.
He added and explained more details, "I feel confident in all three positions. I know that my bat is going to play. I feel adequate at second and third, and shortstop has always been my position. Wherever I can help the ballclub, and help the team out the
quickest, is fine with me."
Some experts also believe that Marlins are going in a right direction and in the coming days, it will certainly help them with huge established performances from their young players who are still making their game right to come up with more aggression in
the coming seasons.
