John Molina: I am not coming to just fight. I am coming to win – Boxing News
John Molina will challenge Antonio DeMarco for the world title belt on September 8 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Molina, who stands with 24 wins, 1 loss and 19 knockouts in his bag, wants to make the most of this opportunity.
Both fighters, along with their trainers and promoters, were present at a press conference in LA for the fight. Contrary to the usual, both of them admired each other, along with showing their determination to victory.
“One thing that I saw in Molina is that he has the desire to go out and fight. Not only does he have the determination, but also has heart and willpower. He’s a fighter who goes out there and takes care of business,” said Dan Goossen, promoter for John Molina.
“He wants to go out on September 8th and bring home a world title to Los Angeles,” he added for his fighter.
When asked as to what the title shot means to him, Molina asserted, “This has been a dream I’ve had since I was 10 years old.”
“I’m not coming to just fight. I’m coming to win. He has what I want and that is that title. I’m on that seek and destroy mission. Afterwards, we can go out to dinner.”
On the other hand, DeMarco, who is the favourite for the showdown, expressed his respect towards Molina, saying that he shares the same hunger and determination that Molina has for the title. Therefore, he asserted, he will give his level best to retain
the title. He further said that the event will be an exciting one for the fans and ‘the real winners will be the fans’. According to DeMarco, on September 8, there will not be a loser as he believes both men will give their best to have the title.
Molina is coming off a win over Miguel Munguia. He went onto the beat Munguia on June 23 last year via eight round unanimous decision.
Analysts are already hoping the fight between DeMarco and Molina to be an enthralling watch, considering both fighters complement each other.
