John Molina, the former WBO NABO and NABF lightweight champion, vowed that he will come out of the ring victorious against Antonio DeMarco.
He assured that the bout will be a classic one and will be dubbed as the fight of the year.
Molina and Antonio recently met at a press conference to announce their upcoming September 8, 2012 engagement. DeMarco is scheduled to defend his WBC lightweight title against John Molina who will be in his first ever world title bout.
Molina expressed the above mentioned thoughts while replying to Antonio’s determined comments. During the press conference, Antonio, also known as ‘Tony de Marco’, remarked that he will lay down his life in order to defend the title, adding that Molina will
definitely put forth tough resistance as it is his first world title bout.
Antonio also assured that his heart and desire is greater than Molina, adding that he will defend the title for the third time as well. Molina, 29, while sharing his thoughts commented that he is happy on hearing Antonio say that he will show courage and
honour in the ring.
John was of the view that he has a dream to become the world champion, adding that he will go to any extent to realise his dream. The American pounder even went a step ahead and predicted that he does not see the bout completing 12 rounds.
Molina stated, “I’m glad to hear DeMarco will have courage and honour in the ring. I will leave it all in the ring that night and I will realize my dream of becoming a world champion. I promise you, when we’re done, it will be considered a fight of the year
candidate. I do not anticipate this fight going 12-rounds.”
John will enter his 26th career bout, boasting 24 wins. The Californian proud has pinned 19 of his opponents via knockout and is considered as a pugilist with decent knockout ability.
Antonio, on the other hand, is also a tough belligerent who has been in a total of 30 bouts, boasting 27 wins. The 26-year-old Mexican does not only have the southpaw advantage at his disposal but also possesses a powerful jab that has already knocked the
