Sunderland’s manager Steve Bruce is now a favourite to lose his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at the Stadium of Light courtesy of the Black Cats 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic in their recent home fixture in the English Premier League. Both the teams were
deadlocked at 1-1 but some rash defending from Wes Brown resulted in an open goal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-Di-Santo-c14060 who made no mistake in giving his team a late but decisive lead. Wigan Athletic came away with all three points but Sunderland’s fans turned on their own
manager as his team threw away precious points.
Sunderland started the English Premier League season in woeful form and they have not recovered from that disastrous start as Steve Bruce has been unable to get his team selection right. Regardless of the fact that he had tremendous
amount of money in the summer transfer window, Bruce spent it on players who are pretty average in nature, something that has hurt Sunderland’s prospects of doing well in the Premier League.
What has added insult to injury to the Black Cats faithful has been the fact that whilst Sunderland have been struggling their rivals Newcastle United have been firing on all cylinders. O’Shea who was transferred to Sunderland
from Manchester United in the previous summer transfer window has come out and defended the club in this time of crisis.
He said, "You see the attendances we are getting, the fans coming to support us and especially at home, we haven't had as many wins as we would have liked. That's something we have got to change very quickly because if you want
to stay in the Premier League, your home form is supposed to be key. We are going to have to definitely change that. We are away next week, but we have got a good enough belief to get three points at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 and then get three points at home to Blackburn. But
that's easier said than done."
He added that the loss to Wigan Athletic has certainly put pressure on Sunderland to turn their fortunes around who will try their best to win their next league fixture. Sunderland will hope that they can sort their position out
as soon as possible without risking a descent into a relegation battle later on in the season.
