John-Olav Einemo to clash with Mike Russow at UFC on Fox 2 – UFC News

According to officials of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the UFC on Fox 2 is scheduled on January 28, 2012. The event will be held at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Although the fight card for the event is being prepared as the event still
has two months to go. However, one of the matches on the main card will be between Norwegian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter John-Olav Eniemo and local MMA fighter Mike Russow.

The Norwegian MMA fighter made his UFC debut in June 2011. He faced American MMA fighter Dave Herman in Canada but could not make an impact. His American opponent defeated Eniemo through technical knockout with his knee and punch shots. Eniemo lost the fight
in the second round.

With the UFC on Fox 2 bout set against Russow, the two fighters would be looking to get a win in their fights. The local MMA fighter from Chicago, Russow, is likely to get a great start in the fight for two reasons. First, Russow would have a huge backing by
his home crowd. The second factor would be the fact that the crown in attendance would give their support only to the American MMA fighter and not to the Norwegian fighter.

Eniemo last fought in the octagon in June 2011 while Russow’s last fight was at UFC Fight Night in March 2011. For the American fighter, the biggest advantage on his side would be his winning streaks. Since May 2007, he has not lost any fight. He maintains
a ten match winning streak, which would motivate Russow but could be an intimidating factor for Eniemo. The Norwegian would have a huge height advantage as he stands at 6ft 6in while the American measures at 6ft 1in. The extra 5inches would give the Norwegian
an edge in his reach, grappling and takedown.

The news of their fight at UFC on Fox 2 were confirmed on November 29, 2011 by UFC officials. UFC would be eager to have Eniemo on its roaster as a fighter that will expand UFC’s list of fighters. It will also give UFC an added advantage in case UFC management
decides to hold an event in the Scandinavian Peninsula. With Eniemo fighting for UFC, they can use him to attract fans if UFC ever holds a live event in Norway. But as far as UFC on Fox 2 is concerned, Eniemo would try to get past Russow in Chicago.
