John Senden returns to action at the John Deere Classic
Australian John Senden is headed to the site of his only PGA Tour victory, 2006 John Deere Classic, with an aim of improving his track record in the current season. The tournament will be hosted at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois from July 12 to 15, 2012.
Senden was the only Australian at the US Open to record a top-10 finish this year, as he tied for the 10th position on the leaderboard.
Right after that, he took a flight back to Queensland and spent three weeks with his friends and family.
Finally, he is returning back to action and plans to make a strong start that will allow him to make preparations for the Open Championship, scheduled to start from July 19, 2012.
He is currently the only Australian, among the nine participating in John Deere Classic, who will move to Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club.
While talking to the local news agency, he told that he also spend some time with his physio and coach, Ian Triggs, to get back on track at the end of his vacations.
According to him, it is essential for him to be focused in order to pocket the maximum out of the big events, scheduled in the remaining six months of the year.
"We had three great weeks in Australia. It was nice to see family and friends and my physio and coach Triggsy (Ian Triggs) to get back on top of things," Senden told AAP.
"There is a really nice run of the bigger events coming up in the back end of the season and I'm ready to really get back into it,” he added."It starts this week and I'm really looking forward to playing here with the good feelings from winning here in 2006".
Senden started off his 2012 PGA Tour campaign with a strong pace and recorded three top-10 finishes in the first five tournaments that he played.
Thereafter, he started to lose some pace and managed only three top-25 finishes and missed the cut thrice in nine events.
Therefore, he needs a good finish at the John Deere Classic in order to move to Royal Lytham with a boosted morale.
