If Bobby retires, Smoltzy for the job? Just hope he does not fight with Chipper all the time.

  1. No way can I see Glavine as a GM. Smoltz as a manager, though, yes, that would be great and he'd be a good one.

  2. Being a great player does not qualify someone to be a GM or field manager. Frank Robinson is a HOFer but had a .475 winning percentage as a manager.

Earl Weaver, Robby's manager in Baltimore, never played at the major league level but had a .583 win percentage and managed the O's a World Series title.

In addition, I'm not aware of Smoltz's desire to manage. The last I heard he planned on coming back to play next year.

  3. John--Skipper?

    Dennis--Hopper?

    Blade--Runner?

    Wood--Chipper..still hang around?

    Free--agent?

  4. That would be great

  5. With Maddux's brilliant baseball mind, why would you want him as your pitching coach instead of your manager or GM?

  6. that will never happen

  7. i am 1 off the biggest braves fans it really not happening soon but i would love for smoltz to always have a spot on the braves roster no matter if hes closing starting or even a coach
