John Sutton helps Motherwell shock Celtic 2-0 - Scottish Premier League match update
Motherwell beat Celtic 2-0 in a Scottish Premier League encounter at Fir Park on Sunday evening. A brace from John Sutton helped the hosts clinch a surprise win over the leaders.

wide of the post from Kris Commons free kick. The game dried up in the middle period after the 20th minute mark. Celtic had another opportunity to equalise when Stokes had a poor finish stopped brilliantly by Darren Randolph from ten yards. A minute
before the half time whistle, Shaun Hutchinson cleared Stokes shot off the line to deny Celtic a goal.
The second half started in lively fashion for the hosts, who came extremely close to doubling their advantage but Hutchinson hammered a header off the bar from Ross Forbe’s corner. The Steelmen finally doubled their advantage in the 51st minute.

Sutton smashed the ball high into the net, sending the keeper the wrong way to make it 2-0 for the hosts. The hosts were marching towards a great upset, as they looked for
another goal to seal the game. They came extremely close to scoring their third goal but Forster made a fine stop from Humphrey’s shot to deny them. Celtic could not trouble the Motherwell defence as they slumped to their third loss of the season.
Celtic’s lead on top of the league table was cut short to only five points when second placed Rangers won their weekend fixture. Celtics will play Kilmarnock in their next fixture on 2nd March, while Motherwell play Iverness Caledonian Thistle
on 5th March.
