Chelsea captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 has confirmed he has not yet heard from new England manager Roy Hodgson regarding his participation in the Euro 2012.
After the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello, the Football Association have appointed Roy Hodgson as the new England manager. Hodgson has confirmed that he will be selecting his 23 man squad for the summer, in which the defensive selection is currently uncertain.
The manager admitted he would be speaking to both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 to determine if they could play together. There was an incident earlier on in the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Queens Park
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 which has caused disparity between the two.
Terry was accused of racially abusing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anton-Ferdinand-c6260, Rio Ferdinand’s younger brother, during the match, something which has not yet been proven. The former England skipper denies the allegations but Ferdinand is not expected to play alongside him.
The Blues defender will face trial regarding the matter in July, after which his fate will be decided. Until then he is innocent until proven guilty and should be treated as such. However, he is yet to receive a call from Hodgson about the issue.
Terry said at Chelsea's Player of the Year awards:
“I've not had any call yet but I'm focusing on the league and Chelsea at the moment.
Hopefully, I get the call and I'm in the squad - and that goes for many of us here. I'll always be there for my country.”
Apart from the upcoming case and the uncertainty over his future with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national team, John Terry has recently been made subject of criticism regarding his poor form. It was Terry who was responsible for the majority of the goals in the 4-1 defeat
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the English Premier League.
Terry was unable to handle both Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez as the Reds strikers dominated the London side’s defence. The caretaker Chelsea manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo was quick to jump to Terry’s defence, claiming one bad game did not mean the defender’s
career was over. There is still time for Terry and Chelsea to make something of their season, with the UEFA Champions League trophy up for grabs.
