Gary Cahill believes that return of John Terry in defence was the reason behind Chelsea’s improved defensive performance against Stoke City.

“He's got massive experience and we were solid. I had a little relationship with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 with him and this was the first Chelsea game I played alongside him. I think it works well but we all had a part to play and contributed. As a unit we looked a lot
more solid.”
Cahill also added that the team is recovering well from Andre Villas-Boas’ sacking, showering his teammates with praise with the way they have dealt with the change. The former Bolton Wanderers defender added that much of the coaching staff has remained
the same, which is one reason for the smooth transition.
Talking further, Cahill gave his opinion on the upcoming Champions League clash against Napoli, the side they lost 3-1 to in the first leg of the pre-quarter-final. The defender expressed that he was disappointed with his performance on the night and vowed
to improve in the upcoming return leg.
“Conceding goals is not a nice feeling and on the night everything went wrong that could have done so it wasn't a pleasant Champions League debut and hopefully we can put that right.”
