Both are great defenders in their own ways, but I support Ferdinand because he's incredible at what he does. He may not be as good a leader in the field as Terry, but he's rock solid and dominating at the defense line.

i think JT is better. he had acomplished alot even with his injuries and external affairs like being taken to court. he has survived all that. having been through so much. though Rio is also quite good.

JT-Leads by example, can make or break a match and not so mistake prone.

RF-Can get the ball out cleaner and faster than JT but he can also switch off in an instant and cause some mistakes.

Terry- Has better defensive abilities than Ferdinand, and the heart of a lion. He represents everything good about his club and really is Mr Chelsea. Really, really good under pressure and chips in with some helpful goals...strangely absent this season save for one.

I admire Rio's defensive work but his attitude is poor. I still remember him kicking the stewardess at Chelsea. Mistake or not, it still reflects badly on him. I also think he does not deserve United captain at the moment. He does not embody anything good about United, really.
