John Terry says Chelsea will welcome Mark Hughes as their new manager – EPL news
Chelsea skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895, has revealed that men in blue will welcome Mark Hughes as their new manager should the 47-year-old be given the charge at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been hunting for a manager after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked by Roman Abramovich
hours after Chelsea’s defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 in their final game of the season.
Chelsea, who had to suffer a trophy less 2010/11 season under Ancelotti and finished second in the English Premier League, are also being linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 national team coach, Guus Hiddink.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and Chelsea skipper, Terry, has stated that they would also welcome the decision of Guus Hiddink’s appointment as their new manger with open arms. This all important decision of appointing a successor to Ancelotti will be taken by none other than
Roman Abramovich himself. Predicting a replacement for the managerial hot seat is difficult as Mark Hughes, reportedly the leading contender for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, has caught the eye of Chelsea officials following his resignation from Fulham on Thursday.
Media has tipped Guus Hiddink as the favourite to take over the job because of his affiliation with the club. In 2009, Hiddink was given the caretaker role to oversee Chelsea on interim basis, and he helped them win the FA Cup under his inspiring leadership.
30-year-old Terry believes that his team would be more than happy to see either Hiddink or Hughes as their new coach.
“Mark Hughes is someone that hopefully the club will be talking to. If it’s him he will be welcomed by the players. There is a lot of speculation out there at the moment. We had a great time under Guus, he would be welcomed back. Whether we are going to
get someone who know the club or someone different, that out of the players hands.” Terry said while talking to the media.
Speaking on Carlo Ancelotti’s departure, Terry said it was sad for him and his teammates to watch the Italian leave. Ancelotti’s exit was on the cards after he failed to repeat the feats from the previous season. The former AC Milan manager guided the Blues
to a domestic double of FA Cup and Barclays English Premier League in the 2009/10 season.
“I was very sad to see Carlo go, and as a group of players we will wait for the club to make a decision. As a group of player we are just waiting until the club makes their decision.” Terry exclaimed.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 owner, Roman Abramovich, who is famous for sacking mangers, will now hire his seventh Chelsea manager since he over the charge at Stamford Bridge eight years ago.
