John Unitas vs Joe Namath?

Johnny U.  He played in the NFL and at a higher level than Joe Namath.  Just look at the stats.

Unitas at his peak (1958 or so) was arguably the best ever.  (Arguably)

Namath had one great year, a few good ones, and was injured.  (His lousy numbers post 1972 are from trying to come back.)

If he wasn't the poster child for the AFL merger, he doesn't get into the Hall of Fame.

Johnny U and it's not close. As a kid, Namath was my favorite player, but he couldn't hold Unitas jock. Actually, Broadway Joe had more career interceptions than TD passes.
