Following a successful loan spell with the Dutch side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221, the 23-year-old striker wants to return to his parent club Stade Rennes FC, and hopes to cement his place in the first team
John Verhoek was signed by Stade Rennais in 2011 and after making few appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, was sent to the Netherlands.
The Dutch striker enjoyed a successful loan spell at ADO where he managed to make 21 appearances for the club and scored 5 goals in the process.
John Verhoek joined his brother http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 as a successful
one.
The former Den Bosch player said that the departure of his brother halted his progress at the club but he managed to get a hold of himself and ended the season on a high.
“Everything was different for me after the departure of my brother. But overall, I'd say it's still a good season for me."
Now the striker is hoping to get back to his parent club and hoping for a chance to show what he is capable of. The player believes that the loan spell has taught him a lot and he is a better footballer than before.
“I return to Rennes in July. I will do the preparation, hopefully take my chance this season and that is good for me. I learned a lot (at ADO), and I hope to prove myself in Ligue 1.”
Verhoek revealed that despite being away from Rennes, he has watched every match of Les Rogues et Noirs and feels that Stade Rennais had a productive season despite missing out on a chance to qualify for the Europa league.
There is no doubt about Verhoek’s potential but his future with Rennes is still undecided. Option of another loan spell is very much in the offing.
The 23-year-old is open to the idea of another loan deal but has revealed that this time he would like to stay in Ligue 1, either with Rennes or with any other club on a loan deal.
