John W. Henry hints http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 N’Gog will stay at Liverpool – EPL News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 owner John W. Henry has hinted that the unsettled attacker David N’Gog and under-fire midfielder Alberto Aquilani could stay at the Merseyside club. The duo is unsettled at Liverpool and has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield since
the start of the transfer season.
N’Gog, who joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-German, has failed to find a breakthrough at the Merseyside club for the past three seasons. Despite the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in January, 2011, the Frenchman could not force his way into Dalglish’s
starting eleven.
The 22-year-old wants more first team action and after the arrival of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, it is very unlikely that N’Gog will get more playing time at Liverpool. The Frenchman has emerged as a transfer target for a number of Premier League clubs.
On the other hand, Aquilani’s future has been in the air for the past six months. Liverpool signed the Italian from AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045, who joined Real Madrid two seasons ago. However, the 27-year-old failed to impress at Anfield and was loaned
to Juventus last season.
Aquilani was expected to secure a permanent move to Turin but the two clubs could not reach an agreement with. The Italian international is unsettled at the Merseyside club and is seeking a move back to Serie A.
Aquilani and N’Gog both are with Liverpool on their Far-East tour. The duo has immensely impressed in the Reds’ recent two wins at Asia. N’Gog scored thrice in the last two friendlies whereas Aquilani orchestrated Liverpool’s play and provided two assists
on the Asian tour.
Henry has now claimed that Aquilani and N’Gog still have a future at Anfield and will be a part of Kenny Dalglish’s squad next season.
“One missing link last year: Aquilani. Put the ball near N’Gog and the goal and it's going in. Too much talk of them somewhere else,” stated John W. Henry.
David N’Gog scored eight goals in 38 matches for Liverpool in the season ended, while Alberto Aquilani boasted one of the highest pass completion ratios in the Serie A last term.
