John Wall notches up a double-double to help the Washington Wizards spank the Charlotte Bobcats 101-73, sending them to their 21st consecutive loss.....
On Monday night at the Verizon Center, Washington, DC, the Washington Wizards thumped the Charlotte Bobcats 101-73.
John Wall led the Wizards from the front and finished the night with 16 points and a game high14 assists.
Rookie Jan Vesely was on lock with his shooting rhythm as he shot the ball 8 of 8 for 16 points on the night. While Vesely and Wall did their damage from the outside, Nene came off the bench to do the damage from the inside. He had a strong night in shooting as well resulting in a team high of 18 points.
Gerald Henderson provided some resistance for the Bobcats, notching up 19 points in the game while D.J. Augustin was the only other player to score in double digits with 15 points.
This tyrannizing 28 point win for the Wizards was their highest of the season and it also helped them formulate their first 4 game win streak since 2007.
On the other hand, the trauma continues for the Bobcats as they have now lost 21 straight games. At the current rate on which they are going, the Bobcats look all set to record the worst winning percentage in NBA`s entire history.
On the night, Wizards were able to out-rebound the Bobcats 45-35. Along with crashing the boards, Washington was extremely assertive in their charge from inside the key outscoring Charlotte 56-26 in that department.
Despite the depictive score line, Charlotte did start the game off strongly and were leading by 3 points, 20-17 at the 3:35 mark in the opening period.  That was however the only and the highest lead for the Bobcats in the entire game. From that point on till the end of the first quarter, Washington managed to add 14 points to their tally while holding the Bobcats to only score 2 points.
The lead quickly got into double-figures as the Wizards started the second quarter on a 6-0 run. It further extended to above 20 in the next several minute and by the end of the first half, Wizards had established a 24 points lead, 63-39.
The onslaught continued and the Wizards continued to make a meal out of the Bobcats defence. By the 8:55 mark in the third quarter, Bobcats were trailing by a huge margin of 30 points.
The Bobcats were able to pick up some slack for the remaining part of the period, outscoring the Wizards 19-10 to cut the lead down to 21 before going into the fourth.
In the final quarter of the game, Wizards started off on an 8-3 run laying to rest any kind of chances the Bobcats had to make their way back into the game. In the end, Washington were able to take this by a margin of 28 points.
