John Wall invigorates his jump shot; Eyeing next season Slam Dunk Contest: NBA News
The first overall pick from the 2010 National Basketball Association Draft, John Wall has been one of the few NBA players, who has been keen on improving their game during the ongoing Labour dispute.
Wall recently decided to accept John Calipari’s offer of training, after which he moved between Washington D.C. and Lexington. Prior to that, Wall spent most of the off season working out in Los Angeles at 360 Health Club in Reseda,
Calif.
That workout in L.A. seems to have paid off and Wall has been thrilling the basketball fans with his thunderous athleticism and incredible fitness in some of the exhibition games.
However, the most important change that was noted in Wall’s game were his jumpers, which he attempted with lot more perfection than ever before.  Earlier, when it comes to jump shots, Wall was often found lacking, so the young
point guard took the advantage of the extra long off season to tweak his jumper and it seemed now that he had successfully achieved his goal.
Because during this summer, Wall’s jump shot looked sturdier, as he had finally gained the missing confidence, which was reflecting in his play. This precision was attained because of the 2,000 shots, Wall used to shoot on daily
basis. These facts were revealed none other than by Wall himself during a question answer session with the basketball fans.
Wall said, “I didn’t have to shoot jumpshots when I was in high school; I just ran past everybody and just dunked and did whatever. So this whole summer that’s all I’m working on is my jumpshot. I wanna take the next step to being
a superstar, to be an All-Star, that’s my goal this year, so I’m working on my jumpshot and everything else….”
After which someone asked him, did he used to shoot a particular amount of jumpers each day?
Wall’s reply was this, “I have to make 2,000 a day”.
This doesn’t mean that Wall had achieved his goal, as the 21 years old is now aiming to take up the challenge of dunk contest in order to snatch the crown from Blake Griffin, who won the award in the previous season after making
a dunk over a car. Sharing his thoughts on the dunk contest, Wall said he is thinking about it, but probably take part in the contest this year or may be next year.
This was a incredible effort by the guard, who although didn’t win the Rookie of the Year award, but still gave a solid performance and was second only to Blake Griffin. Now with the tweak in his jump shot, Wall is ready to make
a break out this season with the Washington Wizards.
