John Wall wants to be the All-Star that leads Washington Wizards into the playoffs – NBA Update
Washington Wizards have seen many changes made to their roster in the past few seasons and this summer has been no different, with a lot of new players coming in as they look to build a strong team for next season.
The changes happening in the recent past, have been so frequent that third year man John Wall has made the most appearances while wearing a Wizards uniform out of their current roster.
Ever since Wall arrived in the capital two years ago, he has seen his team change around on a consistent basis. According to team owner Ted Leonsis, the changes made during this off-season have been done to build a team around
their number 1 draft pick from 2010 – a promise Wall wants to deliver on, come next season.
“I’m very confident, I mean, the organization, the general manager, the owner and the coaching staff are doing a great job. Now it’s just up to us the players to go out there and execute what they’re giving us and play our best.
“– Wall
Wizards will hope that with an entirely new look team, Wall can be a go-to leader. He is expected to form a reasonable combination with the likes of Nene, Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor along with a few others who are more than
capable enough of backing up Wall.
Along with the changes, come high expectations for next season as the Wizards look to change the fact that they have not been able to make it to the playoffs since 2008.
While discussing the possibility of being an All-Star next season, Wall remained adamant that it is time for him to be considered as on the of best point guards and help his team make it to the playoffs.
“Yeah, it’s time for me to be in the playoffs, it’s time to be an All-Star,” Wall said. “It’s all those type of things that I’ve been wanting and wanting [for] this organization, to help the Wizards get better. So it’s all up to
me to lead my team and us to get better.”
Wall however may have to wait on his dream of making it to the All-Star team next season with Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose still in strong contention in the Eastern Conference. But, if he is able to pull off the
star performances and be a leader for the Wizards, they do have a very high chance of being in contention for the last few playoff places.
