John Wright not worried about New Zealand records in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 – Cricket News Update
New Zealand’s cricket coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Geoffrey-Wright-c67883, does not want to think too much about his team’s previous records in Australia, and said that the Black Caps are good enough to turn the table around this time.
Out of their 26 Test matches in Australia, the Kiwis have won only a couple, and both triumphs came more than two and half decades ago. Wright himself was part of the Kiwi team that crushed Australia in Australia, way back in 1985.
Another matter of worry for the tourists is that the Kangaroos have a terrific record at Gabba, as they have not lost any Test at the venue since 1988.
However, Wright feels that the stats will count only a little when the two teams take on each other in the opening Test of the two-match series at Brisbane, starting from December 1, 2011.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 and company is not at its best at the moment, as many key players are either out of form or carrying injuries. And, the Kiwi coach believes that his boys have all the necessary weapons to destroy an apparently vulnerable Aussie side.
"It's impressive, no doubt about it but we have everything to play for. In our change-room we have some young cricketers who are really looking forward to playing this match. We are not daunted by that record, we see it as an opportunity - it will be up
to us (to snap it)," said Wright.
Unlike the Kangaroos, the Black Caps are in a good rhythm these days, as they did quite well in the one-off tour match against Australia A. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JD-Ryder-c1679 smashed centuries while the Kiwi bowling attack was pretty impressive
as well.
The mentor cited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754’s superb performance in the tour game is a massive plus for the visiting side.
He added, "We got a lot out of that game. And they were kind enough to include three of the attack that are going to be here. It will be different (at the Gabba) - it's Test match cricket. But that applies to them as well."
