John Wright takes charge as New Zealand coach
Former New Zealand captain, John Wright, has replaced Mark Greatbatch to take charge as New Zealand’s head coach. The decision was taken as part of the review, conducted by New Zealand Cricket, of the team’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. The review also saw captain Daniel
Vettori lose his position as a member of the selection committee.
Talking to reporters after his appointment, Wright said, “I'd always thought it would be a great challenge. When you look back it's been a tough one but that's cricket. I feel some unfinished business. I'm excited and I want to test myself as a coach.”

have managed only 2 wins. Wright admits bringing the team back up will be a challenge but remains confident that the players will regain form.
He said, “I understand it will be small steps. I look at particularly the one day team and they have potential. But the trick is to help the players find that consistency, find how to rediscover their form and confidence.”
New Zealand cricket has also set up a new selection panel which includes Mark Greatbatch, Glenn Turner and Lance Cairns. This committee will be independant of the team and captain Vettori has lost his position as a selector. New Zealand Cricket, however,
has stated that the captain and coach will both continue to give their input in the selection process and their opinion will be respected.
New Zealand are set to host Pakistan for a 40 day tour. Pakistan’s tour includes 3 T-20s, 6 ODIs and 2 Test matches. This will be both teams’ final international matches before the World Cup, which begins on the 19th of February.
The series promises to produce some thrilling encounters, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 too has not had much to cheer about on and off the field. Their side has failed to win an ODI series since 2008 and have been surrounded by controversies.
