What is most impressive about Abigail Adams's intervention on her husband's behalf in his quarrel with Thomas Jefferson? Is it possible to compare the political partnership of John and Abigail Adams with, for example, that of Hillary and Bill Clinton?

  1. Abigail Adams ended up hating Thomas Jefferson. I don't recall her ever intervening. She stopped talking to Jefferson in letters except for a couple of letters before Washington was even President.

No. It was obvious to many that Hillary Clinton had political ambitions while Bill was president. Abigail Adams really kept John Adams grounded, she was his counter-balance.
