Vitesse Arnhem manager, John van den Brom, has expressed anger following his side’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of NEC Nijmegen at McDOS Goffertstadion on Thursday, May 10.

Van den Brom expressed his anger at the end of the match and insisted that his side were unfortunate to be on the receiving end of such poor decisions.
“I am extremely angry. First, the referee awarded a spot kick, which was absolutely not a penalty. In the closing moments of the game, the assistant referee ruled it a goal. It was completely unbelievable. We could not have stopped playing, but this was
totally unfair. I think KNVB should appoint better referees in the play-offs. I hope Bjorn Kuipers whistle in Arnhem. He seems to be the best”, Van den Brom was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The two sides will meet in the return leg at GelreDome Stadion on Sunday, May 13.
