Johncanttalk expected to thrive in Maiden Hurdle at Cork
Johncanttalk is expected to notch up top spot in Friday Evening Racing At Cork Racecourse (Q.R.) Maiden Hurdle which will be held at Cork racecourse on Monday, April 9.
The significant contest over 3m distance has €6,900 in purse. Johncanttalk will break from Trap 13 when the action begins at 2:20 (GMT).
The William P. Murphy-trained bay mare is set to face some big guns like Lastofthepilots, King Malik, According To Lizzy, Cnoc Seoda, Scarton, High Class Show, Johncanttalk, Theroadtocroker, Tukawhile, Dr Bennett, High King´s Court, Nothin To Say, Bothair
Clei, Lady Milano, Perky Bob, Mini Royale, Naughty Molly, Not De Mama and The Colleen Ban.
Since the very beginning of her career, the maverick mare has been enjoying great form. The seven-year-old talented runner has run for six times to date.
The L. Gormley-owned mare broke her maiden in her last outing on March 26, 2011. Prior to this, she had achieved a runner-up rank during the same month.
Now, she is returning to action after a long break. She has been going through some tough training sessions since her last successful start.
Though there lies a lot of uncertainty about Johncanttalk’s comeback performance but most of the punters strongly believe that the brilliant mare will make a big impact tonight, therefore they have staked huge sums of money on her victory.
The hot favourite sprinter’s chances to finish first in the Hurdle are as high as 90 percent provided she manages to browbeat two of her rivals like The Amarillo Kid and Cnoc Seoda in the beginning of the marathon.
The Amarillo Kid bagged a couple of consecutive victories during November 2011. The W. F. Codd-trained bay gelding marvellously grabbed third top spot in his last outing on March 31, 2012.
On the other hand, Cnoc Seoda excellently clinched third and second positions in the last two starts of her career. The Declan Queally-trained bay mare has won 2 out of her total 11 races to date.
In this situation, a fierce battle is expected at Cork. Let us see who gains what. Good luck to all the contestants.
