Johnny Bedford fights Louis Gaudinot at TUF 14 in UFC debut – TUF 14 Preview
With The Ultimate Fighter 14 underway on December 3, 2011, the event will feature American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters Johnny Bedford take on compatriot Louis Gaudinot. TUF is an event promoted and hosted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The TUF 14 Finale is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas.
The bantamweight bout on the main card for the night between Bedford and Gaudinot will be one to watch. Both fighters will be excited to enter the UFC octagon ring for the first time in his career and prove their MMA skills. Comparing both the fighters, it is Bedford having a higher experience in the ring for he has won seventeen bouts, lost ten and one of his fight ended in a draw. Gaudinot, on the other hand, has won five fights and lost one.
Bedford has not won more than five consecutive bouts in his career, which he enjoyed from October 2009 to May 2010. He lost to Edwin Figueroa in August 2010 ending his short-lived streak. He did three enjoy straight wins from June 2007 to December 2007. He also won three consecutive fights later two times in his career but he has not been consistent in winning his bouts.
Entering into the TUF 14 bout against Gaudinot, what Bedford has to look out for are Gaudinot’s submission moves. It is an interesting point to note that Bedford has lost all of his fights by tapping out to submission holds his opponents applied on him in the fight. If Bedford can keep a pressure on Gaudinot and make him fight on a vertical base, then Bedford can keep away from tapping out.
Every fighter is aware of his opponents’ weaknesses and Gaudinot would certainly know that submission moves are a weakness for Bedford. Out of the five wins Gaudinot has scored in his MMA career, he scored the fifth one with a submission move. He would certainly look to takedown Bedford at the earliest, blow some punches to make Bedford lose his focus and then apply the submission hold.
Bedford, who has proved his toughness in his career, will certainly bring the same aggression in the UFC octagon ring. Gaudinot, on the other hand, would be the weaker fighter with less wins but he would also want his UFC debut to be an impactful one.
