Johnny Dash challenges race favourite Ballymac Ace in the Grade OR Philip Giles 9th Birthday Stakes
The Grade OR Philip Giles 9th Birthday Stakes will take place at Romford at 21:40 GMT, over 400 metres for £175. The runners who are competing in this highly anticipated race are Ballymac Ace, Lenson Mac, Clarecastle Dub, Johnny
Dash, Burnpark Brave, and Yahoo Killian.
Johnny Dash has a considerable advantage coming into this race, as he has the familiarity with the track that the other runners may not have. The son of Ballymac Maeve, out of Blackie, triumphed on this track on 6th March, 2012,
where he defeated, Newinn Phanter, by 1 ¼ lengths over 400 metres in 24.32 seconds.
Trainer M. Locke ran the black hound in a solo run on 13th March, 2012, where he completed the 400 metre track in an impressive time of 24.18 seconds.

His fourth place finish in the Grade OR The Romford Stadium Standard on 16th March was slightly disappointing. He covered the 400m track in 24.86 seconds against winner, Jewel Magic’s, time of 24.58 seconds.
Racing at a familiar track will definitely work in his favour, and he may able to secure a placed finish as he is entering with the odds of 3 to 1.
Ballymac Ace will be racing today with the odds of 5 to 2 as a favourite. The son of Ace Hi Rumble, out of Ballymac Mir is more experience than Johnny Dash, but has not raced at Romford before. Lacking the benefit of the familiarity with the track,
the hound still shows immense promise. He ran four solo runs this season under the training of C. Allsopp.
He ran a solo run on 27th February, 2012 at Perry Barr over 275 metres which he successfully completed in 16.10 seconds.  He ran another solo run at the same track on 13th March, 2012, this time it covered
a distance of 480 metres which he completed in 28.79 seconds.
This will be the second start of his season as the first one took place at Perry Barr on 21st March, 2012.

He finished fourth in the Grade IR Follow@Betfairsport On Twitter in 28.76 seconds, against Droopys Lorenzo’s time of 28.28 seconds. With his comprehensive training and practice, he may be able to dominate today and score a victory.
Lenson Mac emerged victorious from the Grade IR Betdaq Premier League Round 2 Leg 2 Sprint at Yarmouth, on 28th January, 2012, his fifth start of the season. He competed over a distance of 277m, and defeated race favourite,
Crown Striker, in 16.61 seconds by a short-head.
This was his only victory in the season and he will be looking to score another one today. His recent performances have not been up to the mark as he finished fifth in the Grade OR Williamhill.com 1st Derby Trial Stakes – Div
B at Wimbledon on 24th March, 2012.
Ballymac Ace may take the lead in this one, but Johnny Dash may be a hindrance, challenging his run to the finish. Lenson Mac is looking at a finish in third unless he brings everything he has to the track.
