Johnny Depp dropped out of school at the age of 16 to concentrate on music life. He played gigs with "The Flame" the band eventually decided to changed the bands name to "The Kids" because the word Flame just didn't seem appropriate to be printed up on t-shirts. They opened for acts like Iggy Pop & B-52's they headed out to L.A. to try and make it big but eventually split. Rock City Angels was his second chance at music stardom. Johnny & "The Rock City Angels" only lasted until Johnny was cast in 21 Jump Street. Johnny had to give up his spot in the band because he was to busy as he made his contractual commitment to the show. He still plays the guitar but is in no band at the moment.
