Johnny Haines enters as new darts player on PDC Tour Card
Now, with the PDC Pro Tour Card in his possession, amateur darts player Johnny Haines has decided to deal with the game his own way.
After qualifying for the PDC Pro Tour in the events held at Barnsley, in January, Haines was able to perform exceptionally well at the UK Open event that took place after that.
The 47-year-old is in full mood and momentum to grab a spot on the oche with the best of darts in the least possible time. To some extent, he has also been successful in achieving his goal.
During the UK Open session, he was able to practice the game with Aussie ace Simon Whitlock. Although he lost the match, according to Haines, it was an experience of a lifetime for him.
Along with this, he was also able to grab a handsome share of 1,400 pounds as a result of performing well in the event.
In addition to this, he also lost to the Dutch darts player Vincent van der Voort in the championship.
According to experts, Haines is not like other players who form the elite tier of darts.
Unlike others, he has a very relaxed attitude towards his game and invests a couple of hours from a day to spend in sharpening his skills of darts.
It is further said that for Haines to stand among the best of darts, it is important that he gives proper time and effort to his game by spending adequate number of hours on it.
“I find that if I try too hard I don’t play my best darts, which isn’t good. It is just the way I have always done it and I don’t want to change now. At the moment it seems to be working, which is good, and I want to try and keep it up now,” he stated.
“I just play my natural way and it seems to work,” he continued.
Despite the fact that he has not been spending much time with darts, Haines currently ranks on the number eight position in the Order of Merit List of PDC.
With the intent of scoring well, and also in search of more money, he will be making his appearance at Bolton.
