  1. Scotch is my passion.  I could fill pages about the fine qualities of a beautiful, smokey single malt from the Highlands.

Truth is, Johnny Walker is what we call a "blended" scotch.  It is a little good scotch mixed with a little cheap scotch.  As scotch goes, it is not expensive.  It's expensive if you compare it to a gin or a vodka or tequila, because those are cheap and easy to make.  Scotch is an art, much like fine wine.

Johnny is a blended scotch, whereas a pricy single malt scotch is pure.  There are lots of scotches in Johnny, but they only put enough good scotch to make the cheap scotch taste go away.  So you end up with a cheaper product, with many different flavors together.  A decent single malt will be about $50 for a 750mL (fifth, for those that were confused).  As you move up in price, you end up with scotches that mainly use either rarer malts or are smaller distilleries with more limited production.  But, in general, where you want to start with a single malt should be in the $50 price range.  Don't bother with anything cheaper, it's like buying the filler for JW Black; atleast JW blended that cheap scotch with some good stuff...

  3. JW is a decent brand of scotch. the 375 is a smaller bottle and here in Texas goes for about $17 or $18.  The black is middle of the road, if you want good, you'll have to pay top dollar b/c of the craftsmanship it takes to make it. True scotch is only made in Scotland so they can name their price unlike vodkas or gins that can be made anywhere Scotch can go anywhere from $10 for McCormick or Highland Mist to $600 for a Macallan Fine Oak 30 yr

  4. Does that equal a fifth?  If so it is 21.99 here, Im in KY..Have u tried the red label?  It is really good... Im not sure why it is so expensive, maybe just the name and label..LOL

  5. i own a bar that johnny walker sponsers.Johnny walker is a blended whiskey. Johnny walker takes lots of scotch whiskeys and combines them to make there products ,the reason johhnny walker  blue ,and king george are so exspensive is alot of the distillers that made the scotchs used in them are now outta business .so it is impossible to make any more . They are very good but for 350 dollars for a 750ml bottle of king george.or 160 for blue label .i`ll just stick with my black label 28 for a 750ml i do live in panama so its cheaper here

to the so called experts that says johnny walker mix`s cheap scotch with exspensive scotch ,that is not true at all ,they use the most exspensive and rarest whiskeys. And johnny walker doen`t distill anything .it just use`s other distilleries products to make its products ,some have over 40 different types of scotch in them. Johnny walker blue is aged 60 years ,king george only uses distileries that were in operating during the rein of king george V .it  is aged even longer ,some of the distillerys are out of business that were used in the recipies ,so when they run out  there will be no more .that means as they sell it off the price will only increase .

  6. A little  bigger than a  fifth more like  a  fourth if you  count  that. But  the  price for that is in  the$30 to $40 range
