Johns Classic favourite for Betfred ´The Bonus King´ Maiden Standard Trophy - Heat 2
Johns Classic has got a great chance of winning the Betfred ´The Bonus King´ Maiden Standard Trophy - Heat 2 at Nottingham in England on Monday, July 16, 2012. The Grade OR winner will be given a cash prize of £125.
The stamina of all runners will be put to a test, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 500 metres. None of the greyhounds has got an impressive record in this class, which will make things difficult for the punters, as they will have to make
their judgements based on performances at lower levels.
Considering this fact, there are a couple of very good runners, who have done well at different levels and also have the experience to tackle pressure situations. One of them is Johns Classic, who has represented his team in this class and has the skills
to outperform his opponents today.
The C. Allsopp’s trained hound started off his career positively, as he managed to succeed in his first ever race. He was priced 3 to 1 back then and did a great job in the end, winning by just a short head distance.
Following this victory, the black dog was tested in a few trial events and his performances in them were really good. He seemed to have the quality required to match the best in the business.
Westmead Hawk’s son entered his first Grade OR race in October 2011 and was priced 6 to 1 by the bookies. There were some extremely competitive runners against him, thus he was expected to struggle back then. He did not get a clean run and had to settle
for fifth place in the end.
However, things started getting better for Johns Classic with the passage of time. His performances became a lot more consistent and he managed to win a few more events as well. Despite all the hard work of his trainer, he was unable to succeed in this class,
which was a bit disappointing for his fans.
The young hound will be chasing his first OR victory today and the odds are pretty much in his favour. He will have to be at his best though, as some other runners will also be challenging him at the front.
