Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Johnson-c3537 feels that failing to win the Premier League this season would prove to be a massive failure for City, given how they played this season.
City are currently sitting a mere three points behind United and have to face the Red Devils on the 30th of April, in a game, that could potentially end up deciding who wins the Premier League title this season.
Johnson, when talking about City and just why it is important for them to win the league is quoted to have said: “There is a lot of pressure on the club now and people expect us to be pushing for all the major trophies.”
“But I think the massive expectations are reasonable when you look at the size and quality of our squad and the investment the owner has put in.”
“With the squad we have we should be winning things. It’s a season that promised a lot and if we don’t win the league now it will invariably be met with massive disappointment.”
“At the moment it’s United’s title to throw away — they are in the driving seat.”
Johnson then went on to admit that the league was United’s to throw away, given their position in the league table and their run of fixtures.
He went on to further add: “But if United win every game they win the league. It’s as simple as that.”
However, should City end up beating United in their upcoming game, then both the teams would go level on points, with City going on top thanks to their superior goal difference.
Given the fact that United lost to City, by six goals to one earlier in the season, it is safe to assume that the blue side of Manchester would be considered to be the favourites going into the game.
Nonetheless, over the course of the last few weeks, United have been picking their form up and this could help them go on and redeem themselves for their loss to City earlier in the season.
It is now a wait to see just which side from Manchester ends up winning the league.
