Johny Hendricks to fight Josh Koscheck at the IZOD center on UFC on Fox 3 – UFC news
Dana White, president Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), recently announced a bout between world number eight Johny Hendricks and world number 10 Josh Koscheck to take place on UFC on Fox 3 pay-per-view for the welterweight division.
This will be the third show televised by UFC on Fox and will be headlined by the bout between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller in the lightweight category. The announced brawl between Johny and Josh will be the co-main event of the pay-per-view.
Both the men are experienced brawlers who have defended their honour against a number of powerful challengers. Johny, 28, has been in 13 brawls to date and has emerged victorious in 12. He has won seven of his brawls by knockout and four by unanimous decisions,
while winning just one by submission.
Koscheck, infamous as the Kos, has been in a total 22 brawls. He has won 17 of his total encounters, collecting five of his wins by submission and the other five by knockouts. He has secured seven of his wins by collecting unanimous decisions in his favour.
With these stats, it can be said that there is not much of a difference between both the fighters.
Josh is more experienced than Johny with his major strength being his resilience level. Hendricks, nicknamed Bigg Rigg, on the other hand is well known for his knockout ability. His main game-play is to simply knockout his opponent as soon as possible.
An interesting aspect that makes both men bitter rivals is their NCAA Division 1 wrestling career. Josh follows the orthodox stance, whereas Johny is a southpaw. Both men are fierce fighters with aggression being their number one tool, which will definitely
make the fight even steamier.
The headline bout announced by Dana is genuinely a classic since both the fighters have always tried their level best to overcome their opponents. So, when both will be placed in one ring, things might get a bit out of hand. The pay-per-view will take place
on May 5, 2012 and the octagon will be stretched at IZOD Center situated in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States.
