Joining a Group-Leadtime?

It's been over a week since I've put in a request to join two separate groups .... and both show a status of 'membership pending.' Is this normal??

They have 14 days to make a decision, after that you are denied automatically. They may have a backlog of new members to accept or the moderator is busy working and making a living? Give them time and be patient or just blow them off and join another group.

You have to wait at least 14 days for an owner / moderator to approve your membership. (of course if their mails are active - if not, better find another group to join)

It could be the group isn't very active and the moderators don't check very often.
