Joining a volunteer fire dept.?

Question

Ok, i am intrested in joining a volunteer fire department and i would like to know if i need to obtain a 36 hour fire card and EMT-B certification first or if they send you to classes and pay for it after you join?

I live in the state of ohio

It depends what state u live in. U should go to the local FD and ask  them what it takes to become a Volunteer. Ever state has different state requirements.

Go you your local volunteer fire department and ask them the questions. Many times, they are just so happy for the help they will put you through the training for free.
