A friend of mine is joining the navy and had to give up guardianship of her son because she is a single mom. Her parents are petitioning for guardianship and she was told that after the notice ran in the paper for 2 weeks there was 10 days that it could be contested and then she would have a letter to give the navy. There was no mention of a court date or anything UNLESS the petition was contested. Her father has recd notice of a court date in reference to the guardianship. Does this mean it has been contested or would this just be the final step of the process?

  1. It means he has been given the opportunity to contest the issue if he wishes. Regards UK

  2. It was not contested therefore it is moving forward in the court structure of things.

Good Luck to your Friend...  Didn't know the Navy did such things.  My daughter was a Mother of two in the Navy.
