  1. go talk to a recruiter, it depends on how soon the classes have openings, some times you get to go quickly (after your medcial appts and such) and sometimes you have to wait a couple of months.

  2. Depends on when you swear in, what job you get, etc. Jobs with fewer openings will have you at a later ship date, for example. HOWEVER, if you're going to join the service for 4 years, go for a job you WANT, not one that will spare you two extra weeks of basic training. If you get both, good on you, but don't let those two weeks decide 4 years for you.

  3. talk to your local recruiter.

  4. Alright well I'm going to let you know now.  Once you sign up for the Air Force it takes 3-5 months.  It takes that long because the Air Force is also run by the Secretary of the Navy.  So those are two forces that have to deal with all the recruiting at one center.
