Joining the Army questions?

my friends has a j-1 work and travel visa for US. and he is wondering if he can join the Army and if they can help him stay here when his visa expires

He can enlist in the military without citizenship, however he can only serve for one term, then he has to have citizenship, or he can't re-enlist.

Have him talk to a recruiter.  They'll know the answer.

recruiters lie alot, be careful. tell your friend to go to several recruiters.

You do not have to be a us citizen to join the us armed forces.

I agree, Have him talk to the local recruiter. If he goes to this link and fills this out someone should contact him and he can ask them questions.

Tell him to ask more than one person, some people just think they know what they are talking about. He can try to ask the next town over recruiter.
