Joining the Marines??

Question

okay i have 2 more yrs until i graduate. i wanna join the marines when i do. but when do i sign up or talk to a recruiter or anything like that? and do they take anybody? how does that work? will i have to go for any pre training b4 i turn 18?

I believe you can go and visit with a Recruiter at 16 yrs of age and older.

No they do not take just anyone.

They do physical screenings and more.

Just talk to a recruiter and they will be more than happy to give you more information.

If you're a sophomore right now, sit tight and consider all the different things that you can consider doing.  Consider other branches in addition to the Marine Corps.  Think about what job that you might want to have.

You can sign up when you're seventeen and hold off on training until you graduate, so wait until next year and talk to the local Marine recruiter then.  As for specific details about who they take and what you're fit for, those are questions that we can't answer since we don't know you.  Develop a relationship with a recruiter, and if they're not answering your questions correctly, then feel free to walk away and talk to someone else.

As for any "pre-training."  You may meet up with your recruiter and other recruits waiting for training to learn some stuff ahead of time, but that's for your benefit and only if your recruiter wants to do it.

As A retired Marine with 30 years, if you are asking this question you will not be welcomed into my Marine Corps, becuase, if you are not smart enough to "google" it, and find out for yourself, you are not Marine material. Good Luck, If you want to join the Marines stay in school. you will need it. God bless you, for your effort. but Marines fight for themselves, .and adapt!
