Joining the army with an re 4

does anyone know if the army will waive the re 4 to have you enlisted? some recruiters are telling me yes....does anyone know and does anyone know how hard it will be to get an re4 to re3

  1. I see you read my answer I gave you earlier.... talk to a recruiter to get a number for the V.A. in your area, and have your DD-214 with you, and you might as well have the rest of your separation paperwork with you (for the V.A.) Reserve recruiters are pretty knowlegeable regarding DD-214's.... there's a 3-letter code somewhere to the left of the RE-block which will have some significance too. (I can't remember the title of that block with the 3-letter code)  


  2. What is the reason for the RE 4? I do believe you will have to get it changed AND get a wavier. But of course the recruiters know for sure. Continue to work with them.

  3. only the National Guard is waiving RE4s on a case by case basis..and if the discharge was drug  or alcohol related, it will NOT be waived
