  1. You will get through. They need all the men they can get.

  2. 1. your brain level will not matter so long as you have the will to understand and try to know what they are on about.... when they teach you map nand compass it is hard and you will have to concentrate

    2. Dont go into it thinking you will get through physicially the fitest person i no just go de3rd from the army meaning he has to wait 3 months as there was something wrong

    good luck

  3. Go for it. You wont know until you try. If unsuccessful first time I'm sure you can apply again. Best wishes - hope you do well.

  4. going threw it myself mate first of strongly advise you to get a trade they will offer you something that will be use to you when you leave, did my barb test monday peice of p**s.. tom is not as tall as peter, who is taller? thats what the questions are like. so point is they need you more than you need them anyways all the best

  5. You will have no problems passing selection or basic training. The infantry does not require any formal qualifications what so ever. In training, you get taught everything you need to know. You don't need any prior knowledge. The only thing that helps is a bit of common sense. Hope everything goes well.

  6. My son left school with poor results and joined the infantry.  He attended the foundation college at Harrogate and found that because the classwork there related to something that he could relate to (ie things he was using whilst trainning) he began to understand maths ect that he found hard at school. He has visited Lourdes and Normandy. Had the opportunity to learn how to scubba dive (and practice it in the Black Sea)and clay pigeon shooting. He has joined his Battalion now and has served in Belize (and  hoildayed in Cancoon) and is now in Cyprus for a couple of years before going to Afghanistan.  I think the army looks at all recuriuts  and brings out their natural talents. Dont put yourself down and dont let others make you feel dumb. Good luck

  7. its easy. first you do numeracy and a literacy test on a computer

then you do a BARB test. its simple

then you will need to send in your medical. and you need togo to training every week. and wait till you get a selection date.

  8. They will train you.

  9. Just remember son. British or American it doesn't matter. If you ain't Airborne, you ain't s h i t.
