Joining the marines and having an re 4

i have an re4 for erroneous discharge from the navy (entry level sep) is there a waiver i can sign to go through to basic? some recruiiters said there was some and others said there wasnt and they didnt give it a second look....plz help

  1. having been there - here's my advice:

    If you can handle it - go to college - get a degree and enroll as an officer and let the military pay for it.

    You'll be much happier.

  3. as a Navy recruiter I can tell you, it won't happen with an RE-4. I've heard of people going through the V.A. (Veterans' Affairs) to have an RE-4 changed to an RE-3 or 2, and just heard that it's very difficult to do.  

  4. The Marine Corps is under the department of the navy, if you got a re4 from the navy, the corps won't have you. Maybe try another branch?
