i'm seriously thinking about joining the navy. i've been working at a grocery store for 3 years now just to get the bills paid. i live with my mom and sister and we all work to pay the bills. if i were to join the navy, would they be able to deposit my paycheck in a bank account so my mom and sister can live off of it? do I need any of that to live in the navy, or does the navy provide me with everything I need?

  1. I believe when you join now you have to sign that you currently have a savings or checking account.

  2. How that's so sweet! yeah the military only has Direct Deposit so that would work for you!

  3. Direct deposit of military pay is mandatory. Be sure your pay is going to a banking institution and account that authorized family members can access, and make sure the deposit and withdrawal process is tested.

Make sure that SF Form 1199A, the Direct Deposit Sign Up Form, is on file with your pay office.

Troops can access and update their pay information online at www.dod.mil/dfas.

  4. The military offers direct deposit... so if they're on your bank account they can access the money.

You will need money to buy essentials, but you'll have free room and dining hall access...

  5. You can set up your direct deposit with their names on your account, but you need to do that at the bank back home first. If you can prove that your mother and sister are dependents you can get an allowance for them also.

  6. Navy gives you what ever you need and your mom can have full access to your money. My Fiance is currently in the navy He has money and his mom is able to access all his banking stuff at any point if need be. The Navy is a good choice not only for money but it is the safest Military branch too. And you get to travel...what more could you ask for
