Joint favourites Lil Risky and Drumcove Lad face off in the Grade IR The Betfair Greyhound Form Guide
Lil Risky and Drumcove Lad are joint favourites for the Grade IR The Betfair Greyhound Form Guide, which is scheduled to take place at Perry Barr on 21st March, 2012.
They will be racing with odds of 5 to 2 over 275 metres for £500 against Westmead Shaw, Jimmy Lollie, Taylors Ace and Leos Options.
Lil Risky already exhibited his skill and capability in his last four races, which are further enhanced with the help of his trainer M. Wallis. The son of Ballymac Maeve, out of Risk The Town, has secured four consecutive wins this season.
He finished first in the Grade IR Betdaq Premier League Final Round Leg 2 Sprint at Doncaster on 24th February, 2012. He entered with odds of 7 to 4 and defeated Me Buddy by 2 ½ lengths over 275 metres in 16.86 seconds.
His second victory took place at Wimbledon. This time he defeated Swabys Tony by 2 lengths in 16.11 seconds in the Grade OR Download William Hill From The App Store on 28th February, 2012. His trainer was delighted at his prospects of completing
a hat-trick which he completed in his next race.
He defeated Swabys Tony again, this time by a much narrower distance of a neck in the Grade OR Ladbrokes Mobile Sprint at Swindon on 8th March, 2012 where he raced as a favourite.
With these terrific performances, it looks this hound is the one to beat.
Drumcove Lad, son of Scarty Lad, out of Drumcove Fancy, will be racing at Perry Barr for the first time in his career. He recently ran two solo runs at Perry Barr under the training of C. Allsopp.
In his solo run, he finished the 275 metre race in 16.05 seconds on 13th March, 2012. He last competed in the Grade OR Stadium Bookmakers National Sprint – Final at Nottingham on 19th December, 2011 where he defeated Magna Buddy by
½ length.
This was his second consecutive first place finish as the first one took place on  12th December, 2011, where he was race favourite with odds of 11 to 10. He successfully defeated Fifis Rocket by ½ a length in the Grade OR Stadium Bookmakers National
Sprint – 1st Semi-Final at Nottingham.
With two victories in the bag, Drumcove Lad will finish his hat-trick if he succeeds in his race.
Jimmy Lollie may acquire a placed finish in this race as he entering the race with odds of 3 to 1.
The son of World Class, out of Droopys Kara, last competed as a favourite in the Grade OR Sapphire Queen Sprint at Hove on 20th October, 2011 where he defeated Pigalle Star by 3 ½ lengths in 16.20 seconds.
The punters are placing their bets on Drumcove Lad and Lil Risky as either of them are likely to win this race in a glorious manner. Jimmy Lollie is tough to beat and will be fighting for a placed finish.
